THE CHALLENGE

Create a personal scooter that delivers a reliable, convenient, comfortable, safe and delightful experience.

In a saturated market the Cityglide V1000 needs to master its core transportation function but also be considerate of the full user experience. What does the V1000 experience look like when traveling on public transit? Where does it live when at home, at work, or out shopping?

WHAT WE ACHIEVED

The Cityglide V1000 is a flexible, adaptive micro-mobility solution for a variety of urban living stories.

Spanning three time zones and two languages the V1000 team required close collaboration between a diverse group of designers, engineers, and manufacturers.

WHO IS OUR USER

From the businessman on his crowded commute to work, to the student hurrying to get to class on time, we considered the needs that users have at each stage of their journey.

By observing  and speaking to users about the last mile on their commute, we found that ride comfort, range anxiety, and staying safe should be central to our design decisions.

DESIGN THINKING

Using sketching, hand modeling, 3D modeling and printing, we verify all our decisions are good solutions.

RESPONDING TO THE USER

Each feature that we design for is to answer one of the core user needs.

ADJUSTABLE RANGE

The all aluminum frame construction and removable battery pack optimize weight reduction without sacrificing usability. The V1000 has a easily swappable battery pack stored in the handlebar, adapting the scooters range to the rider's individual need. A single pack has a 10 mile range.

COMFORT COMES STANDARD

Running a large 9" dual density tire on the front wheel provides a stable fast ride of up to 15mph. Rider comfort has been further enhanced by a thick shock absorbing rubber deck mat and front spring suspension.
